New university opens in Beppu

BEPPU, Japan - Some 720 students from 28 countries and territories attend an entrance ceremony April 3 for the new Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Oita Prefecture. About 470 Japanese and 250 foreign students attended the ceremony conducted in Japanese and English. The university was established in the southwestern city of Beppu by Kyoto's Ritsumeikan University and the Oita prefectural government.
